A must for women over 35!
I know this show was probably created for the typical teenybopper CW audience and no, I am not their audience but I decided to check it out anyway. I was surprised by how light, funny and charming this show is! It doesn't make you think or teach you anything but pair this show with a glass of wine and a carton of Chinese food and it is the perfect antidote to a crappy week for the professional woman.
This show will make you smile and have you rooting for Zoey as she tries to navigate life in a small southern town and deal with the attentions of the perfect man (George - he is my pick for Zoey) and the hot but destined to go nowhere bad boy (Wade). If you like chick lit or romantic comedies then you will love Hart of Dixie!
a charming and quirky light drama
I'm hooked. For me, this is almost as good as Gilmore Girls, and as good as Northern Exposure was (remember that one?)
This is a soap opera that's done light-handed. The show is interesting and the casting is well done and the characters are mostly a mixture of likable, charming, and quirky.
The main character (Zoe Hart) is a driven NY surgeon with a bit of tunnel vision and while she excels as a surgeon her people skills are sadly lacking. Because of this lack of people skills, her career game plan gets blown off track and she finds herself accepting an offer in an old-fashioned small Alabama town. She's the outsider and it's all uphill as she starts off with mistake after mistake - and being a small town, she's constantly under the grapevine magnifying glass. Fortunately she has a few people on her side, and little by little - episode by episode she is growing personally and professionally and also becoming part of this small, community complete with gators...
Surprisingly great show!
This show has got me hooked right now. I never gave it a chance until I saw it on TV one day at work. It was a very slow day at work and I was flipping through the channels and saw a very cute girl(Zoe), I remembered her from Jumper which she was great in. And I thought I would give the show a shot. I'm glad I did. You will love this show, give it a try its addictive as hell!
